APPLICANT INFORMATION
The General Internal Medicine Residency Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine is fully accredited by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The residency program, sponsored by the Department of Medicine, is a three-year categorical medicine training program, that includes a year of preliminary medicine for those interested in pursuing advanced residencies.
We provide comprehensive, evidence-based education that seeks to create well-rounded, astute clinicians with a passion for leadership, innovation and patient-centered care. Our training includes a wealth of experience at our three primary affiliated institutions, ensuring that you will be exposed to the full spectrum of care, from routine primary care through specialized quaternary care.
Our innovative curriculum and 3+1 schedule also puts us in the forefront of medical education with the integration of simulation and bedside ultrasound training. We provide the necessary foundation, knowledge and experiences required for you to embark on any of the innumerable career paths within internal medicine.
