Purpose
The Seventh Annual Hematology Symposium will feature regional forum on education on emerging and established treatment options in hematology. This course seeks to bridge the gap between large national or international conferences and the convenience of a smaller educational forum which can facilitate local and regional collaborations in healthcare.
Target Audience
This activity was developed for primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other professionals with an interest in hematology.
Activity Objectives
As a result of attending this course, I am better able to:
- Recognize and treat thalassemia
- Identify patients with bleeding or clotting disorders for whom the expert referral is needed
- Discuss strategies to minimize the use of blood components
- Diagnose and manage COVID-19 in the immunocompromised host
- Understand emerging treatment options for autoimmune disorders with hematologic implications
- Treat or refer patients with diffuse large B-Cell Lymphoma
- Discuss emerging applications for CAR-T cell therapy and other cellular therapy options
