REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES

The predoctoral student must complete the following requirements to qualify for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Health Sciences:

  1. A major program of study (courses and research) including a comprehensive written preliminary examination and an oral qualifying/advancement to candidacy examination.
  2. A written dissertation based on the student’s original research, and a successful defense of the dissertation during an oral examination given by the student’s doctoral committee.
  3. Full-time residence for at least 6 regular academic quarters.
