Welcome to the web site of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. As the largest department in the School of Medicine, our faculty and staff are at the forefront of medical discovery, patient care, and medical education at the dynamic University of California, Irvine campus. The Department has 11 divisions, subspecialty fellowships, an internal medicine residency program, a comprehensive undergraduate medical education curriculum, and clinical programs in the internal medicine subspecialties. Over 160 fulltime faculty members, 58 fellows, and 90 residents are actively engaged in research, medical education, and patient care. Major hospital sites for our clinical and educational activities include the University of California Irvine Medical Center, Veterans Administration Long Beach Health Care System, and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
